Do you need to leave the building for lunch after the water-play exhibits? At Seoul Children's Museum, you can use the third-floor family lounge for meals. Planning where to play and eat, as well as reserving tickets, can save trips between floors with your bags.

Key point

If you start on the third floor, eat in the family lounge too. If you start on the first floor, take only what you need.

What to remember

  • Children aged 36 months and older and adults pay 4,000 won each. Younger children enter free with proof of age.
  • There is stroller storage on the first floor, but no stroller rental.
  • The third-floor family lounge is open from 10:00 to 17:00. Eat your food there.

Reservations and admission: Adults need tickets too

The museum is inside Seoul Children's Grand Park at 216 Neungdong-ro, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Hours are 10:00 to 18:00, with last admission at 17:00. It closes on Mondays, January 1, the Seollal and Chuseok holiday periods, and maintenance days. Online reservations are recommended for individual visits; admission is limited when capacity is reached. Visitors aged 36 months and older, including adults, pay 4,000 won each. Younger children enter free with proof of age. Children aged 10 and younger must enter with a guardian.

Strollers on the first floor, meals on the third

Stroller storage is behind the first-floor ticket desk; strollers are not available to rent. Lockers are to the right of that desk and opposite the elevators on the first floor and basement level. Food may be eaten only in the third-floor family lounge, open from 10:00 to 17:00. Hot water is not provided, and cup noodles and delivered food are restricted. Nursing rooms are on the second and third floors.

What is on each floor?

The first floor focuses on space, art, and nature play. The second has physical, imaginative, and thinking activities, plus a baby play area. The third focuses on science and cultural play. Use the floor guide to locate both the areas your child likes and places to rest.

For a visit around lunch, consider starting upstairs

If you visit around lunch, try third-floor science play, a meal in the family lounge, then one exhibit area your child chooses on another floor. You can also stay upstairs if your child wants more time there. Instead of visiting every floor on your first trip, try saying, “After lunch, let's choose one more place.” If you choose a water activity, keep spare clothes within easy reach.

Getting there by train or car

The official directions describe a walk of about five minutes from Exit 1 of Children's Grand Park Station on Line 7. The park's parking lot is run separately from the museum and charges 300 won per 10 minutes for passenger cars. The museum warns that there may be parking queues on weekends.

Return before 17:00 after eating outside

The official FAQ says individual visitors have no time limit after admission and may reenter before 17:00 on the same day. It also says visitors without packed lunches can eat outside and return. Eating outside and reentering is therefore an option alongside the family lounge, but note the reentry deadline of before 17:00.

Notes

  • Hours and prices reflect the public guidance on the date above. Temporary closures and reservation availability depend on your visit date.
  • Reentry is for individual visitors before 17:00 on the same day. Do not confuse this with group visit duration or entry rules.
